It’s 2018: Don’t Allow Your Motivation to Only Exist During Office Hours

Hello, 2018!

Have you all made your 2018 goals? I finally finished my 2018 vision board and I’m excited about everything I want to achieve this year. While I’m extremely focused on making my company better and having a better connection with the team members, there also a lot of things I want to achieve that do not deal directly with my full-time job.

I’m not a morning person, never have been, and probably never will be. When 5pm hits on a weekday, most people are ready to go home, and I’m in the groove of working. Then I get home. I hit my couch or my boyfriend and I are trying to figure out dinner and I get lazy.

2018, my biggest goal is to stop procrastinating. I have so much I want to achieve and procrastinating won’t let me achieve my goals. Take time to sit down and discover the biggest thing/trait that is stopping you from achieving your goals. Don’t focus on the people, but what you’re doing that you could change to help you reach the goal.

There a lot of variables that come in the way of getting your goals achieved. Family, school, financial issues, life, work, stress, the government. It’s going to be tough, but we can’t let these things keep us down. What are your goals for 2018? Are you ready to do whatever it takes to reach them?

Remember that while we love our jobs, I hope, there also things that we want to achieve personally and we need to find the time to focus on those as well.

Although it looks like a kids school project, I’ve decided to share a photo of my 2018 Vision Board. I want to grow my HRJazzy Brand, obtain my SHRM-CP, be a great board member for NASHRM, network with more HR Professionals and have better connections, blog more, the list goes on and on … and this is just for my HR development.

I’m ready for 2018, I pray it’s an amazing year for us all, remember, hustling to make yourself better doesn’t just happen during office hours.

Until Next Time …
